Facility Access Control - Comply with TWIC identity verfication standards and control facility access by interfacing to the Varec Driver Entry Terminal or 3rd-party automation equipment

Terminal Automation Edition FeatureControl Access to Your Facility and Equipment

Varec 8620 Driver Entry TerminalFuelsManager Oil & Gas Terminal Automation edition interfaces to control equipment, such as the Varec 8620 Driver Entry Terminal or OPC compliant devices, to collect and verify data and control operations. The 8620 DET is situated at secure areas, such as entry and exit gates, pre-load stations, weigh scales, load racks and BOL stations. It interfaces to FuelsManager Oil and Gas Terminal Automation edition software to capture data and provide user prompts or notifications based on the desired configuration. For example, the 8620 DET can be used to collect IDs via card readers, fingerprint scanners or keypad entry. It then communicates with FuelsManager Oil and Gas Terminal Automation edition software to verify ID data. Authorization can be controlled based on many factors configured in the FuelsManager system, such as, driver ID, schedule, company, customer, trailer, product allocations, etc.  Once authorization of the current process is received from FuelsManager, the 8620 DET sends I/O commands to connected devices, such as gates, presets or PLCs.

TWIC Compliance

FuelsManager security and database features are developed in line with current TWIC developments. The 8620 DET’s FIPS-201 compliant biometric card reader and high resolution fingerprint scanner also fully support TWIC data collection requirements.
