Tank Gauging Technologies
FuelsManager integrates with all major instrumentation, such as float & tape, servo, radar or magnetostrictive tank gauges, pressure transmitters, flow meters and leak detection systems. Each instrument field loop is integrated into FuelsManager via Varec's Remote Terminal Unit (8130 RTU) or TankGate Interface (8300 TGI) devices. Tank gauge manufacturers supported include; Varec, Honeywell Enraf, Gauging Systems Inc., L&J Technologies, Shand & Jurs, MTS, Rosemount (SAAB), Whessoe, Endress+Hauser and more.

Process data, such as levels, temperatures, volumes and flow, is collected from tank gauging instrumentation and used in inventory calculations. Your operators are able to select engineering units for individual variables based on your measuring applications, as well as perform remote tank gauge configuration and control. Gauge commands can be scheduled, such as performing density profiling or water bottom measurement, for known down times or based on a daily schedule.
Tank Points
A tank point is a collection of variables that defines a single tank in the FuelsManager database. Tank variables include over 40 predefined variables specifically designed for tank gauging applications. These variables include process data, engineering units, strap tables, volume correction methods, alarms and tank geometry. Each variable may be manually entered, measured (connected to field instrumentation) or calculated (where applicable). Input/output points and triggered points are used for automation and control purposes and are only available with FuelsManager Oil & Gas Professional and Terminal Automation editions.
Tank Characteristics
FuelsManager supports geometries for all command tank types, including cone roof tanks, horizontal cylinders (with flat ends), bullets and spheres (both standard and polynomial). Tanks can either be configured with fixed roof or floating roof and calculations can include or exclude the floating roof mass in the strapping (tank capacity) tables. Minimum and maximum working levels can be set and are used to calculate available product and remaining tank capacity. Tank capacity tables may be innage or outage (ullage) with unlimited strap entries per tank.
Product Definition
Assigning a product to a tank in FuelsManager helps to prevent unintentional mixing of products. With one operation, all properties of a product are assigned to the tank. Product definitions are added, modified and deleted using the resources command in the FuelsManager Configuration application. They are saved in the product index and then assigned to tank points.
