Varec was founded in the greater Los Angeles area, California in 1928. Throughout our history, we have continuously refined our position as a market and industry leader by introducing new products and systems. Detailed below is a brief timeline of our software development as it releates to FuelsManager.
| 1950 - Varec pioneered "Pusle Code Systems" for relaying signals from the tank instrumentation to the control room via telephone wires. This first system included level measurement, pump and valve control, and status indication. Over the next 30 years Varec refined the system in line with its hardware product developments, becoming the industry leader for tank gauging, automation and control. |
| 1978 - Coggins Systems begins developing DDCS 8100: a mini-computer based SCADA system. |
| 1981 - Microsoft buys all rights to DOS from Seattle Computer. |
| 1985 - Varec releases the first DOS-based tank gauging software package to operate on personal computers - Sytem IV. |
1985 - Microsoft ships Windows 1.01 |
| 1987 - Microsoft ships Windows 2.02 |
1988 - Microsoft ships Windows 2.10: includes optimization for the 286 processor.
Microsoft hires six DESC employees to form team to develop Windows NT. |
| 1989 - Microsoft begins Windows NT Development. The development team estimated 18 months to complete the product. They would eventually be two and a half years late. |
| 1990 - TankView® software was launched for management of bulk liquid storage across various industries. |
1990 - Microsoft ships Windows 3.0 |
| 1991 - Coggins Systems forms team to develop a Windows based GUI for its existing VMS based DDCS 8100 SCADA product. |
1992 - Coggins Systems ships GUI 8100: a SCADA product with a Microsoft Windows based front end and a VMI mini-computer backend.
Coggins Systems forms team to develop a Windows NT based, 32-bit Product. |
1992 - Microsoft ships Windows 3.1 |
| 1993 - Coggins Systems begins development for FuelsManager 1.0, a Microsoft Windows NT compatible and approved 32-bit product. |

| 1994 - Coggins Systems releases SCADA Manager 9000, FuelsManager Fuels Control Center (FCC) Version 5.2, (1027)and the RTU 8130. |
| 1996 - Coggins Systems combines functionality of SCADA Manager and FuelsManager; with additional product improvements FuelsManager version 2.6 is released. |
1996 - Microsoft ships Windows NT 4.0 |
| 1997 - Microsoft ships Windows CE 2.0 |
| 1998 - Whessoe Coggins named as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Provider. |
| 1999 - The Whessoe Group is restructured and Varec is relocated to Coggins Systems in Atlanta, Georgia. |
1999 - Microsoft ships Windows 2000 |
| 2000 - Varec aquires Synergix and begins development on an airport fuels management solution. |
| 2001 - Varec (Coggins Systems) releases FuelsManager 2000 Aviation, which includes the new Dispatch and IntoPlane modules integrated with the Inventory Management and Accounting modules, to provide a complete suite of aviation fueling solutions.
Varec also releases FuelsManager 2000 (v4.2) Inventory Management which is NMi approved for custody transfer applications by internationally accredited Dutch authority. |
| 2002 - Varec releases the next generation Fuels Control Center 1028

| 2003 - Varec begins development of next generation enterprise FuelsManager product based on Microsoft .NET technology and load rack automation features to offer a complete oil and gas terminal automation solution. FuelsManager Aviation installed at Detroit Metro Airport to enable the first paperless aviation fuels management system. |
| 2004 - FuelsManager version 6.0 suite of modules is packaged into Industry Solutions - Oil & Gas, Defense and Aviation. |
| 2005 - U.S. Department of Defense signs three year blanket purchase agreement for FuelsManager Defense Version 6.0. Varec also releases version 7.0 FuelsManager Industry Solutions: Oil & Gas and Aviation with enterprise features and web-based functionality.

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) completes the acquisition of Varec, Inc. The acquisition strengthens SAIC’s position in the fuels industry and allows the company to provide a more comprehensive array of services to its customers. |
